Property as an Asset Class

About this event

 The panellists:

  • Jennifer Nursiah - Partner at Coreco

The session was moderated by Frankie Smith.

Some of the key takeaways were:

  • We need to see interest rates as a ‘new norm’, as while we’re hoping they will come down the reality is they’ll settle around 4%

  • For those who are nervous about getting on to the property ladder, there is never a ‘right time’ to invest as the property market will go up and down, as they do across other markets. It's all about your personal motivation and risk appetite

  • If you’re a higher rate taxpayer earning income off a rental property you could see yourself being pushed up the tax bracket – speak to a financial advisor about how you can best structure this to manage the tax implications

  • If you’re looking to buy a new build or a property with EPC rating of C or above, you might be able to get better rates!
